Finally went to a real casino after playing online forever. Sat down, bought some chips, first couple hands were fine. Then I hit on 16. Guy next to me lets out this huge sigh like I’d personally ruined his weekend. Didn’t even say anything at first, just looked over, shook his head and goes, “You’ll learn.” 
On the drive home I actually searched how to play blackjack at a casino because I thought maybe I’d broken some unwritten rule or done something stupid. Nope. I already knew the basic casino blackjack rules. What I didn’t know was that some players genuinely get annoyed by decisions that have absolutely nothing to do with their own hand.
Dealer didn’t care. Casino didn’t care. Only this guy looked like I’d just taken money out of his pocket.
Maybe he was having a bad night… but that was honestly the weirdest part of my first live blackjack session.
Dealer actually saved me.
