How to bet in blackjack when every friend gives different advice

ngl… i’m more confused now than when i first sat at a blackjack table

One buddy keeps telling me to raise my bet after every win because “you’re playing with the casino’s money.” Another says that’s exactly how people blow their bankroll. Then I watched a couple of YouTube videos, and even those couldn’t agree on the blackjack betting rules when it comes to sizing your bets.

The weird part is everyone sounds 100% confident.

I’m not even talking about hit, stand, split, or double. I mean the betting itself. Do most of you just pick one amount and stick with it? Do you increase after a few wins? Lower it after a bad streak? Or is all of that just gambler logic that feels right but doesn’t actually help?

tbh i’m starting to think i’ve been focusing on the wrong part of the game the whole time.

Curious what real players actually do.

Nah.

Your friends are confusing gambling with investing :joy:

If somebody has a “can’t lose” betting progression, ask them why they’re not retired yet.

This is exactly why new players get lost. Everyone explains how blackjack bets work differently, even though the mechanics are pretty simple. The bet goes out before the hand, then your decisions happen after the cards are dealt. Everything beyond that—pressing wins, pressing losses, doubling every chance you get—is personal preference, not some universal truth.

I’ve watched people swear by completely opposite systems and both of them were convinced they had “figured it out.”

BRO… stop taking table advice from random dudes who just hit one lucky shoe :skull:

Every casino has that guy yelling “PRESS IT!!” after you win two hands lol.

Play the way YOU can afford to play. Chasing somebody else’s style is how people torch a bankroll before the drinks even arrive.
