I swear I tried… lasted maybe 3 minutes ![]()
Started reading one of those “ultimate” guides, got hit with charts, probabilities, exceptions, more charts… closed the tab and just opened a blackjack table instead.
Not saying that’s the smart way to do it lol.
I knew the basic blackjack card game rules, so I figured I’d probably learn faster by messing up a few hands than reading another wall of text. And honestly? That’s kinda what happened.
Lost a couple hands for dumb reasons. Split when I shouldn’t have. Took one extra card because my brain went “ehhh it’ll be fine.” It wasn’t fine ![]()
But after a while things just… clicked.
That’s why I always laugh when I see those massive blackjack for beginners guides. They make it sound like you’re studying for an exam. Meanwhile half the people I know learned by jumping into low-stakes games, asking stupid questions in chat, and figuring it out one mistake at a time.
The funniest part was my cousin. He kept talking about “21” like it was some completely different card game. Took him almost a week to realize everyone was talking about blackjack ![]()
I’m not saying skip learning the basics. Obviously know the rules before you throw money around.
I’m just saying people seriously overcomplicate this game online. Curious how everyone else started.
Did you actually read the guides first… or did you just send it and hope for the best?
